What has changed?

We’ve made the Isolated Patients Travel and Accommodation Assistance Scheme (IPTAAS) application process easier for you.

From 2 December 2024, we removed the need for a GP (or other health referrer) signature on the IPTAAS application form. We heard your feedback and know that removing the signature will save you time and sometimes money.

Your GP or health professional still needs to refer you to your nearest approved service for treatment. You will need to add the details of your referring GP or health professional to the form.

If you claim online you no longer need to submit Form 5 IPTAAS Referral Details with your application, making IPTAAS online applications easier. Applying online is the fastest way to receive your IPTAAS subsidy. Applications can be made anytime on the IPTAAS online portal with your smartphone, tablet or computer.

If you need to travel by air for healthcare, your GP or health professional still needs to contact IPTAAS to get an air approval code.
